My experience of raising a child with intellectual and developmental disabilities has given me a deep and personal understanding of the challenges families face—balancing the demands of full-time caregiving, navigating the school system, and locating various support services. With two teenagers still at home, I have also experienced the joys and challenges of parenting through all stages of family life, from early childhood to adolescence.
